Fall times

The other day we went up Hobble Creek canyon for some being in the mountains time. I basically need to go to the mountains as often as possible. It's good for my soul, peeps! Which is a stupid, cliche thing to say, but it's for realsies. Should I say I love me some mountains and say TWO stupid cliche things? Done. The point is, Monday was the most beautiful, warm, wonderful day, and possibly the last one of the year. So the only natural thing to do with it was head for the hills. And it was great. Here are some pictures of it.

And then we found the playground. And Chris came up with his most brilliant idea of all time--obstacle course race. Which we obviously filmed, so we could know who was the fastest. These are a little bit embarrassing, actually (and prompted me to get serious about weight loss, if you must know) but they are funny too so I wanted to share.

An introduction to what exactly is happening here. Opening ceremonies, if you will:

First contestant Chris:

Second contestant Erin:

An interview with the winner. WHO COULD IT BE?!

There is also a video of me interviewing Chris about his loss (whoops, I spoiled it if you didn't watch the video), but for some mysterious reason it will not upload. Spooky! No, it's not spooky. But Halloween is soon and there aren't very many spooky things happening in my life, so  . . . .

And then on the way home we hit up Art City Trolley, because, I ask you, what day of fun is complete without eating food that someone else prepared? No day of fun, is the answer.

Oh, and look what a glorious thing we found on the menu there!

TW, you never told me about this! You sly little minx.

Chris just had to have it. His conclusion: Delicious. Good work, Teenwhizzle.

We also ordered cream soda in bottles and pretended it was beer. Because we are 12.

I like him. I like when he can have fun with me. Turns out Pharmacy school doesn't allow for very much of that business, so this was a MUCH needed little outing. Yay for Fall!

Also, please scroll down and look at our jack-o-lanterns, decide which one scares you the most, then vote over to the right. kthanksbye.

Dang, I was hoping for some biffs like on Wipeout. Haha. jk. How fun. I'm glad you guys got to spend time together. I know the horribleness of having a busy husband. Bleh. So moments like these are the best! Happy Fall and congrats on your obstacle course win!

the trolley is probably my absolute FAVORITE place to eat. next time you go get denae's sweet sensation salad - SOOOOOO good. the dressing is what makes it - it's a maple vinaigrette. mmm.... and lucky you for getting to experience a change in the season. i miss that. :)

This was so great! We are totally doing an obstacle course next time we go out. The downside is that we have to go to a different playground and can't compete with you ... next annual event, right?

why have we NEVER been on a double date? seriously though, this was entertaining, and also, we have been to that trolley. we told our kids were going to eat dinner on a train...they were slightly disappointed...ha. but we liked it. :o) oh and James was all serious while he was watching this "he didn't seem like he was trying as hard, like he gets stuck on the slides, erin just flies down the slides. She's really putting forth effort, it looks like she is trying to go as fast she can, you know?" kind of thing. that was very entertaining to lsiten to as well. Thanks!
