This might be the worst day of my life

For those of you who have never had the privilege of viewing my umbrella, I am truly sorry, for it is a masterpiece of an accessory. It is red, and has off-white polka dots all over it. Around the edge there is an off-white ruffle which has red polka dots on it. This umbrella is quite possibly my most prized possession. I didn't have a picture of it, and this picture is close, but does not quite capture the magic of the real deal.

When some people look outside and see rain, they see a day full of wet feet, hair gone curly or otherwise ruined, worms on the sidewalk, and other such unpleasantness. But not this girl. I rejoice in the fact that I get to use my wondrous umbrella.

But today, my friends, that joy was taken from me. My umbrella has broken. One of the ribs on the inside has snapped, and perhaps it can be repaired, but not by me. It needs the touch of the master's hand. If I only knew who the master of this particular umbrella was, I would rush it to his or her workshop post haste and beg for it to be made whole again.

Were it possible, I would purchase another one, but I bought it over a year ago at Campus Craft and Floral (which really has such fantastic umbrellas, this one of course being the crowning creation) and it is now gone. Maybe the internet can sell me one similar or the same. Please tell me if you know of any online umbrella vendors that vend such fabulous items.

But for now I mourn the loss of my sweet friend. We even match today, I'm in a blue polka dotted shirt. We had a lovely morning walking through campus. But I'm afraid the rest of this day will be dismal, as if I were carrying a plain black umbrella like way too many people were today.

Please keep me in your thoughts.

I am sorry for your loss of the most amazing umbrella. Perhaps a little duct tape will suffice until a replacement can be found? I hope this works out better for you. Cute umbrellas are something that should never, ever break but always want to.

Ah, umbrellas. The perfect ones are so hard to find and they are so fragile. I wish they were a little more sturdy so they wouldn't break our hearts. This website had some ruffly umbrellas, but I fear they just won't hold a flame next to your amazing red one. I'm sorry for your loss.

I love that umbrella, and can only imagine how much cuter yours was. I am so sorry-umbrellas definitely need to be a fashion statement, so I feel your pain! I have a lot of down time at work so I will be on the look out!

oooh. that is sad. Do you know what I think? I think your umbrella was probably the most photogenic thing in the world of rainy days. I mean, black umbrellas, gloomy faces, dark clouds...and then a red and white umbrella -- I wish I had a picture from above of everyone on campus walking...and i bet we could pick out where you and your dear red friend were walking at that point.

i am deeply sorry for your loss.

If I see any that are exeptional enough for you I will call you asap. I'm sorry for your loss. You are too wonderful to stay sad though.

bad news...you left your pink umbrella in the trunk of my car. Remeber when Chris was like, "why didn't you bring your good umbrella?" And you were like, "because what if something happened to it?" Then I saw the pink one back there and thought it was a good thing you did not leave your good one. I am sorry to hear about that. It just makes me sick!
