Meeting local celebrities is the best

On Saturday night I went to Day's Market, which is a smallish, local grocery store.

All I needed was flour and toothpaste, so it was a quick stop. I got a miniature cart, since I didn't want to have to lug the flour bag around, and headed to the baking aisle. As I turned the corner to go down that aisle, I saw a little blonde boy, and a little red headed girl, and their mom, Stephanie Nielson. I think she saw the recognition in my face, so there was no way I couldn't NOT say something to her. Before I knew it, I was telling her I loved her blog and I loved her, and she was giving me a big hug and thanking me for saying hi and telling me she loved my coat. I told her that a bunch of her cousins were in my ward growing up, and how much I love her family. Then another lady was coming down the aisle and said, "I love your blog too." And we all laughed and I said, "You're probably like jeez, everyone leave me alone!" And she said, "No, no, I love it, thanks so much." I turned to leave so the other lady could talk to her and she said, "Nice to meet you, Erin."

She was so sweet, and so nice. And I'm positive people do that to her all the time, and it probably gets old. But she didn't make me feel weird at all, I seriously felt like we were friends. In fact, I ran into her again when I was getting toothpaste, she was on that aisle too, and we said hi to each other again. Jane and Nicholas were picking out bubblegum toothpaste and saying, "Mom! Mom! Can we get the bubblegum kind?" Of course she said yes. But anyway, it was so cute to see her with her kids, and to just see her in real life, pushing a cart full of groceries and meeting people and being so, so sweet.

So that's what happened the day I met Stephanie Nielson. Also, I told my mom yesterday that I met her, and she was like, "I met Mr. Nielson at the Carl Bloch exhibit last week!" But she didn't tell him she knew who he was. He just asked her some questions about things. (She volunteers at the exhibit.) Anyway, it was great.
