Good news

One of the guys I work with brought us his homemade biscuits this morning. BISCUITS.

Now, biscuits are not something I spend much time thinking about. I've made them probably one time. They're good. My mom makes pretty good ones. If someone were to come up to me on the street and be like, "Hey, do you like biscuits?" I would be like, "Well yeah, who doesn't?" But then I would probably think, "How integral are biscuits to my everyday life? Sure, I like them, but could I live without them? Yes."

But that has all changed, amigos.

Because today I had homemade sourdough special secret recipe that probably includes magic biscuits, and my life has now been changed forever.

There was also butter, and honey, and homemade jam that was basically the best thing I've ever eaten.

They were fresh from the oven. So warm, and flaky, and delicious. I could practically taste the buttermilk that was used to craft them.

I haven't had such a satisfying food experience for quite some time. And that's saying a lot, I ate a Cafe Rio salad this week.

And the best part is that I hadn't had breakfast yet! I have a box of Cream of Wheat at work, as well as frozen berries, so that's what I eat nearly every morning. But this morning, I kept thinking, "Oh, I should eat my Cream of Wheat," but then something would distract me, and I kept putting it off. But I know now that I was being led to the biscuits, not knowing beforehand that they would be coming into my life.

Oh, biscuits. I will never forget about you again.

I fell in love with biscuits and gravy on the Alaskan train. But you're right. I don't usually think that I love biscuits until I have them. Especially with some good gravy. Now I'm hungry. Good thing it's dinner time.

PS My word verification is trivestr. Like semester, but three. Get it?

mmmmm biscuits. that sounds good. but i am also a fan of cream of wheat too, so i guess that's not saying much. :) but when i make cream of wheat, it involves half and half, butter, and sugar. and really...what is not good smothered in all of that?
