One of the things involved in a language class, as I'm sure many of you have experienced, is doing cultural events. Usually I watch an Italian movie or TV show and write about it, but about a month ago I decided to be awesome and make pasta.
I also decided to take pictures of the whole thing and share them with the internet.
Here is the dough all rolled out, ready to be cut into tiny strips.
And here it is after being cut. I thought it looked so pretty all laid out on my cookie racks, drying overnight.
Here it is cooking in the pot. This is the moment when I started to be worried about this "pasta" of mine.
The noodles were smothered with tomato sauce and eaten. Well, most of them were. A good portion of it ended up in the trash can. Chris told me to take a picture, and I wanted to, but I think I either forgot or the batteries were dead. Or maybe I was ashamed.
Nevertheless, I made pasta one time, and probably won't again unless I have a machine or an Italian mentor standing beside me.

you are very adventurous! I never did anything cool like that because the class made me want to die every time i though about it.
also, it is your fault that i got the idea to look at anthropologie.com. I am now a covetous person.
way to go on the pasta. that's pure talent. i make pasta roni when i'm feeling chef-like. that's about as good as it gets around here.
Ah Principessa! Come รจ la vita? Il tuo tagliatelle guardo delizioso.
Lets leave the pasta cooking to the Italians and we will go to Rome together to eat some! Yum!
Alright, I'm finally commenting on your blog since I've been reading it for quite a while now...
I forgot that you were an Art History major, because so am I! I'm only on my first semester of Italian and it is quite the adventure. I'm already running out of Cultural Event ideas.
