My wonderful, dear, beautiful Katie is finally home from her mission! She got home this morning, I have not seen her yet, and I'm dying! Literally, I might die from this. I am SO excited for her to be back! Her mom told me they might come in and visit me while I'm at work, which is where I am now, and I'm just SO excited to see her.
It has been 20 long months (I was on Study Abroad when she left) since I saw this girl, and I don't even know what to do with myself I'm so excited. So I blogged about it. These are pictures from her mission she included in the emails to her family, which her mom forwarded to her friends.
YAY! Welcome home Kate!
*Update as of 3:08 p.m.---I called Kathleen to see if she'd heard anything, and she hadn't, so she called to talk to her, and got hold of her mom, who had a sad story to tell. Kate's flight from Chicago landed at the PROVO airport to "fill up on fuel." Obviously that's fishy because Provo is 45 miles away from Salt Lake. So her parents were up at the airport in Salt Lake, and they made an announcement saying that if you were waiting for that flight to go to the info desk. At the info desk they told them they had landed in Provo and taken everyone off the plane because there was indeed a problem with the plane, not just low fuel. So Katie is currently hanging out at the Provo airport while her parents are stuck in traffic coming back from Salt Lake. I feel so bad for the poor girl, she already got delayed last night and had to spend the night in Chicago, and now this. She probably could have walked to her house (were it not blizzarding outside) in the amount of time the whole ordeal has taken. More updates when I get them.
*Update as of 3:19 p.m.--Kathleen is going to go save her at the Provo Airport. She called Kater's parents and told them so, and they said great, go get her and take her home. I am at work or I'd be going too. So she's almost home. Yay!

it was SO good to see you and chat. why are you one of the most lovable people ever? I don't know.
I talked to your mom for like 20 minutes after the reception was all over. She's so sweet. I decided that I love her too.
Erin only you could understand my sadness. So I will tell you:
last night I had a dream that Casidy called me to say that all missionaries in Russia had to come home now or else in 6 months. So she had to decided to come home NOW and she was HOME just down the street! I started crying I was so happy, I couldn't even handle it. I told her to come over and that I would clean up my hosue so it would look good for her. I was anxiously cleaning up when the doorbell rang....
And then I woke up. I was so sad. I miss our Cas.
Erin! When I first saw that someone new had commented on my blog at first I thought it was you, but then I secretly hoped it was some crazy person who had seen my blog because I'm so popular. But then when it turned out to be you after all I was secretly glad it was a friend and not some creep-o. Are you still living in quad 5, by the way? I have another friend living in that quad. We must catch up sometime soonish. I am in VA for Christmas with Bryan's family (so fun) but we will be back at the beginning of January. Perhaps we'll have to have you guys over for dessert or something some time if you haven't already moved away to someplace like Kentucky or something. Okay, well Merry Christmas!
P.S. Bryan's family is having a talent show prior to opening gifts tomorrow and the secret talent that Bryan and I are doing is a sock puppet lipsync to "All I Want for Christmas" by Mariah Carry (sp?) that you and Shelly and Kylie used to play on full blast every day of December in the dorms. Hehe. Extra Merry Christmas. :)
I'm so glad your mom and I are pals now.
Last night. It happened. Again. Casidy was home. And with Sam. And I didn't know until we met at a christmas card making party hosted by you.
the end.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
