Michelle-o-rama

I love whatever Michelle Obama is wearing. Every time I see her the words "fabulous," "classy," or sometimes even "fierce" come to mind.

I know I'm not the first to point this out, but she is so reminiscent of Jackie Kennedy (and in more ways than just her dressing).

She is so classy, very first lady-ish, and always impressive to me (also in more ways than her dressing).

Which is why last night as the election results rolled in, and the new first family was presented at Grant Park in Chicago, I was a little bit disappointed in her outfit.

I know it's Narciso Rodriguez, and it's the Spring 2009 collection, but I just wasn't into it.

Here it is from the runway. It was altered some for the first lady look, obviously. And actually, I found a whole article about it here.
What did everyone else think about the outfit? Thumbs up or thumbs down? Let me know.
Also, on a more serious note--this election is over! And we elected a man who could not have even voted 100 years ago, which I think is pretty incredible.
I did not vote for Barack Obama. But he is going to be our president, and I will support him in that. I loved his speech last night (but who doesn't love his speeches, right?), and I hope his presidency is just like that speech was--inspiring and hopeful. I know he will do a fantastic job and cares deeply about the welfare of our country.
ALSO,
And boo to the people who won't let it go. Quit trying to make everyone else cater to your "rights." Is it so difficult to just be lesbians who live together and leave it at that?
But seriously, don't forget to tell me your opinion of Michelle Obama's dress. I want to know.
p.s. I just posted this and realized that I had been on Chris's email, so it says Chris posted this. Rest assured that he did not. That was all Erin, baby.

yeah, the whole time she was on stage, Brian was trying to figure out how to say in the most polite way possible that it wasn't the most flattering dress on her. :) I wasn't the biggest fan, either. She has a nice chest and a hot butt, but the dress made them look huge. Pretty dress, pretty lady, not the prettiest combination.

I was thinking the same thing! I told Lars I did not like her dress and it was not as impressive as usual. As I told this to Lars his comment was "It matches his tie though". Typical!

Erin I sure do love your guts! I am not a fan of the dress.

I agree on it all. As for the dress, when she came out I was thinking, "Holy red boobs and crotch!" not very flattering. Also I was very distracted by the clashing reds of Ms. Obama and their older daughter. If you're going to go for an all black and red motif, use matching shades please. But I am very impressed with the Obamas as a family. It will be fun to have children in the White House. (this is not a reflection of my enthusiasm towards his policies, but I'm trying to be optimistic!)

I really wish that Chris had posted this. At first I didn't like the dress either, and its still not my fave, but I kind of actually like it.

Oh, and I also think electing Obama is really cool and he is such a captivating speaker and so dang charming. Also, I'm pretty sure he is the first president to have won, not one, but TWO GRAMMYS. Its true.

yeah, that dress should have stayed on the runway...

thumbs down.

I really like her hair in the ALL black outfit. And I have to say I don't like all of her outfits. I liked the orange one, the black one, the purple one, and...i can't remember now, but yes. she's very classy.

i like her hair in photo number two.

i like her black outfit with the yellow shirt and i also love her face in the photo.

I like her turqoise dress.

i know i'm late on this one, but i had to put in my 2 cents:

i find that sometimes "modest-ifying" a dress (as wonderful as the motive behind it is) often ruins the outcome of the outfit. i am all for making do with today's fashions by adding sweaters or "shades" tops under immodest attire (i do it often myself), but there are times when it just does NOT work.

i think mrs. obama's dress is a good example of this. the sweater is too much (distracting?) with her dress. but i do enjoy most of her other outfits. in fact, i REALLY want that black skirt of hers in the second picture!

HEy Erin, I agree, I think Michelle Obama dresses sooo classy and fashionable, rather than the typical suit dress thing... I love all the colors and styles, plus she has an great physic and incredible arms.. so she can makes anything look good.
