Tagging business

What is this tagging business? I'm not so sure about it. Because with email forwards, there are all sorts of threats attached if you don't do it. Your whole family dies, you never get married, and all sorts of heinous things befall you if you fail to forward the fake Taco Bell dog video to everyone you know.

This being said, my dear little Teenwhiz tagged me. I'm supposed to say 6 random things about myself.

This was difficult for me, because I feel like I'm an open book and no one will be surprised about anything I say. But I guess they don't necessarily have to be surprising . . . anyway, here they are:

1. I have never mowed the lawn. Our servants did that growing up. Just kidding! The servants never mowed the lawn, my brother did.

2. I thought that when I got married, I'd get baby hungry, like most do, but I haven't at all. I want to hold other people's babies, but not have my own. I have, however, gotten baby gear hungry. I look at strollers and cribs and car seats and the like all the time. Strollers.com is actually a website I visit often. Maybe this one should really be called "I'm sort of bratty and I just like STUFF, even if I don't need it."

3. I had a heck of a time deciding I wanted to get married. I'm assuming most people know this, since I was quite vocal about the whole issue, but for those of you who only see me as happily married to my cute little Chris, that was not always the case. I had a several month long period where I just didn't know if I wanted to get married, and I felt anxious ALL the time, and I would cry about it almost every day, and it was awful. But Chris was so cute and patient with me the whole time, and finally he proposed to me and it all went away. It was literally the most dramatic moment of my life--standing there, looking at this boy down on one knee, holding a ring up to me, and thinking, "oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh . . . " and then saying yes and finally feeling so good about it. He is a cutie. And we are in love.

4. I really love to know things. This applies to ALL things. If I meet someone, I want to know how many kids are in their family. If someone passes along a bit of news, I want to know every detail. If I'm not sure how to spell a word, I will look it up as soon as possible. If I'm not absolutely sure what that word means, I will look that up as well. If someone asks me something, even something dumb, like, "How old is Paris Hilton?" I'll come up with what I think might be right, but then I HAVE to look it up, because I have to know.

The other night Chris and I watched The Other Boleyn Girl (which was pretty good, by the way), and then I spend like an hour and a half looking up stuff on Anne Boleyn, and Henry VIII, and Jane Seymour, and Elizabeth, and Mary, and finally ended up at Prince William . . . . The bottom line is---Wikipedia is probably my best friend. And Paris Hilton is 27.

5. I have the coolest family alive. For realsies. I think my family is hilarious. Every one of us is really different, but we all have a similar sense of humor, so hanging out at my house is very funny. My mom is freaking awesome. I'm sure all of you who know her think she's awesome too. In high school we hung out at my house a lot, and it was not unusual at all for me to come up from the basement and find several of my friends hanging out with my mom in the kitchen. She's just really cool.

6. I really really love wedding stuff. I was sad when mine was over. The week I got married, Chris and I were at Macey's and I wandered over to look at the Bridal magazines, and he was like, "Erin, are you serious?" When I find out someone is engaged, I want them to tell me EVERYTHING they are planning. Really. I want to know what colors, what the cake looks like, every detail of their dress, what flowers, etc. Aside from baby things, wedding stuff is what I look at most when I'm wasting time on the internet. There's one site in particular that I actually seriously look at every day. SO--let this be a lesson to you. If you get engaged, tell me everything. All the details. I want to know.

Well, that was fun. So I guess this tagging business is fine.

Oh, and I have to do 3 peeps . . . Um, Andrea Hansen Harris, Cierra Braithwaite Orellana, and Elizabeth P. Dowd Pinborough. And I'll be checking. So even if you're embarrassed to fling yourself fully into the world of blogging and tagging--too bad.

erin this is why i love you. these random things. you are a doll! i quite enjoyed this post.

and not to freak you out or anything, but you remind me too much of James! for example, i will go home and ask him how old Paris Hilton is...and then I will let you know if he goes online and finds out...even though he doesn't care about her at all. He also LOVES to know things. I love to know things as well, but usually will be too lazy to look it up. I prefer someone to just tell me.

i love you.

Erin,
This is my second try to leave you a "comment". Sometimes Natalie and the "net" do not go together as well as one might think! Erin, I LOVE your blogspot. It's so you, even the color is your wedding color. You're way too lavish in your "fam" praise, but... we'll take it! I love you, Mom (is this lame if your mom says this?)
